Hokitika is a cool little town in New Zealand that really tries to sell itself as a “must-stay” destination. But we left it with somewhat mixed feelings. In this article, I discuss why.

To me, Wharariki Beach is undeniably one of the most inspiring, captivating, and amazingly beautiful places you will find in New Zealand. Getting there was tough, but I couldn’t be happier that we didn’t let that stop us.

Kaikoura appeared in our itinerary almost by chance. Had I not wanted to see the Wharariki Beach, we would probably never come here. And let me tell you, that would’ve been quite a shame.
