Streymoy and Eysturoy are the two largest islands of Faroes, and exploring them could easily take weeks. We didn’t have that much time, but I did my best to visit some of the most noteworthy locations on these islands.
Faroe Islands – Hike to Kallur Lighthouse on Kalsoy
With its huge cliffs, green fields, and unpredictable weather, the island of Kalsoy offers some of the most magnificent views of the Faroe Islands. It is also home to one of the most incredible hikes on all Faroes that I just couldn’t miss – the hike to Kallur Lighthouse.
Faroe Islands – Puffins of Mykines
Mykines is the westernmost of the Faroe Islands famous for its population of puffins, and a hiking trail leading to a beautiful lighthouse. It is a lovely little place on the Faroes, so we decided to spend a day exploring everything it has to offer.

The hike to Drangarnir will easily be a highlight of your trip to Faroe Islands. It is one of the most stunning hikes on Faroes and a definite must-see.

The hike to Trælanípa is a very popular trail on the island of Vagar. It’s undemanding, easily accessible, incredibly stunning and easily one of my favourites on all of the Faroes.
